This flora is a type of plant that grows attached to other plants. You can only find this ant nest on the trunk or branches of trees in Papua.
This plant has a brown color with several spines and broad leaves. When this plant is split, it will look like an anthill. In addition, this plant is also often used by ants as a place to live.
Although it looks like a parasite, the tubers of this plant have many health benefits. The tubers of this plant can be processed into drugs for cancer, hemorrhoids, stroke, ulcers, and improved blood circulation.
Musa Ingens
There are many types of bananas, but they are different from the bananas in Papua. The West Papua banana is enormous with the Latin name Musa Ingens.
One banana in ripe condition has a length of about 18 cm with a diameter of 4 cm. The weight of this fruit can reach 60 kg. This Musa Ingens banana tree is commonly found in the Arfak Mountains region. This plant usually has a height of up to 25 meters. Even the midrib of this banana leaf has a length of 5 meters with a leaf width of 1 meter.
Red fruit
The red fruit comes from the pandan family. The red fruit is wrapped in leaves similar to corn, so it is necessary to peel it first to get the fruit. Red fruit is also in Papua New Guinea and is known as Marita, while the Papuans themselves call it by the name of kuansu. There are at least about 30 types of red fruit, but only four types have high economic value, namely long red, short red, cokelot, and kummiming.
The red fruit used for herbal medicine is a long red type with a length of up to 100 cm and a diameter of 18 cm and 7.5 kg. The Papuan people consume the red fruit simultaneously as performing the stone ceremony. Red fruit contains many benefits such as increasing endurance, preventing cancer, preventing diabetes, and so on because red fruit contains high antioxidants and beta-carotene.

Orchids are one type of flower that has many kinds. One kind of orchid, namely the black orchid, can only be found in Kalimantan and Papua.
Even though they are both named black orchids, they still have differences. Papuan black orchids have dark black flowers with brightly colored pistils.
This Papuan black orchid plant is classified as rare, with an expensive selling value. In addition to black orchids, there is also an iron orchid in Papua, which is also a rare plant. Bright green petals with purple pistils characterize this orchid.
Matoa
You can find this one plant on the island of Java and many other places. But do you know? Matoa is a plant originating from Papua. Matoa has a unique fruit and skin structure like longan.
When ripe, this fruit will have purplish-green skin. At the same time, the meat has a diverse taste of longan and durian. This fruit can only be harvested once a year, from January to February.
Rabon Bi
Rabon bi or keben has a shape similar to a water guava fruit but has fibers on the skin and the edges. When cut, the inside of the rabon bi will look like a shell and white. It also contains seeds that are pretty hard and slimy.
Even so, you cannot consume the rabon bi fruit. The Papuan people only use Rabon bi fruit to cure eye diseases like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and cataracts. Treating a sore eye is relatively easy, namely by dripping the juice or starch of the rabon bi fruit on the sick eye.
Bintangur
The shape of the Bintangur is round, slightly oval with green skin color with clustered fruit types. Although you can not consume Bintangur, it does not mean that this fruit is useless. The benefits of Bintangur fruit are obtained after going through processing, namely by being extracted into the oil. The Papuan people use Bintangur oil to fuel oil for motorized vehicles.
Star oil is only used when the supply of fuel oil is scarce or too late to arrive. The stages of becoming oil start from drying the star fruit first. Drying aims to remove the oil from the fruit. After that, the oil must be filtered to separate it from the objects or deposits contained in the oil. Furthermore, you can use the resulting oil for fuel.
We should conserve the beauty of West Papua plants well to protect them from extinction. Besides, they also take essential parts in preserving West Papua’s culture.
